It was unreal, simply unreal.  He was dead, yet here he was, standing before you, not a scratch on him.  You stood there at your podium, knees trembling, palms sweating, heart throbbing, head spinning.  “Y-y-your alive,” you extended your shaking pointed finger toward the throne where Monokuma was sitting; though, it wasn’t Monokuma anymore.  It was the mastermind.

Your knees grew weaker and weaker until they gave out and you landed you upon the floor.  The cameras that were showing the world the despair were focused on your, zooming in on your weeping face.  “W-w-why?  H-how?  Y-you a-are dead!”  You barely managed to stutter out.  “I saw you die,” you let out an ear-piercing shriek, your hands violently pulling at you hair that had become thinner from the stress of the “game”.

The “game”, or hell as you called it, started out as what you thought was a carefully planned out and sickening joke.  However, it soon morphed into a full on massacre, a bloody game of fate, a sadistic game of survival; and you were just a pawn.  It had dawned on you about half way through the game that there was no turning back.  First you had begun to lose sleep, nothing major, just a little insomnia.  Unfortunately and tragically, it grew into something far worse; you had lost all interest in eating and had lost quite a bit of weight,  you had started to prick your fingers with a knife to stay awake, you had even lost interest in life itself.

But then he came along.  From the moment the two of you matched eyes, you knew that you had to survive.  You simply had to.  He then began to nurse you back to health, even if that meant feeding you like a stubborn child and waiting at your bedside till you fell asleep.  He tended to your every need, caring for you like a husband would for a wife.  Then, he died, leaving you to fall into the deep pits of despair.  It was over, you knew without him you were going to die.  But, for some ridiculous reason, you refused to give up hope.  Perhaps it was Makoto’s constant speeches or maybe it was some sort of automatic response to the change in your life.  But, whatever it was you refused to die.

“Why are you alive?” You wailed, howling at the top of your lungs in a shrill voice, burrowing your eyes in your palms, hoping this was a dream or a hallucination of some sort.  He let out a chuckle and smiled wickedly while everyone else fell silent.  First he looked around and addressed himself to his former classmates.  “It’s so good to see you all again, I missed you all dearly.  Have you obeyed the school rules?”  Everyone one including the ever-present Makoto was struck.   He then turned his attention to you. “Aren’t you glad to see me (y/n)-Chan?”  He chuckled once more, “I would have thought you would, I mean, the way you acted after I died was awfully convincing.”

He raised your head slowly with his index finger and forced you to look at him.  His wide cherry red eyes were brimming with madness, his thick burnt black eyebrows were as far up on his forehead as they could be, and his insane smile frightened you to the core.  “Didn’t you miss me?”  He giggled like a little girl, “I certainly missed you.”

You looked him over; was he really the same boy you fell in love with?  The right side of his perfectly combed hair was snow white, while the left side was jet black.  His uniform had changed drastically as well, it was the complete opposite of his hair; the right was a burnt black while the left was a clean white.  His black boots were laced perfectly just like everything else about him.  No, he wasn’t like he was before.  He was a completely different person. He was no longer the Kiyotaka Ishimaru you knew.

“I-Ishimaru-San….Why?”  You shoved him away, sending him a few inches back, then buried your face in your hands once more, “How could you do this?”  You looked like a small child throwing a temper tantrum, “I trusted you, I loved you.”  You could hear the sound of your heart breaking, shredding into little pieces.  The boy you had fallen so madly in love with was now long gone.

“Y-You loved me?” Kiyotaka cocked his head, for the first time he seemed to be taken aback, completely and utterly shocked.  He inched closer on his hands and knees, hoping to get just a little closer to you, “Do you actually mean that?”  His eyes narrowed as he lifted your face with his index finger once more, “Do you really mean that (y/n)-Chan?”

You shoved him back violently causing him to fall flat on the floor, “Didn’t I make it obvious enough!”  You were shouting now, tears flooding down your cheeks, your nose a stuffy red, “I loved you from the bottom of my heart!  You nursed me back to health, you saved my life.”  You wiped your tears and nose with your sleeve, “But I don’t think I can say that anymore.”

Kiyotaka crawled over to you on his hands and knees and paused for a second to take in the shock.  However, that didn’t last long.  “But I’m in love with despair, (y/n)-Chan,” he grabbed your face, this time violently, his whole hand grasping your chin.  He moved you so close to his despicably smirking face that you could almost taste his lips.  “You can never compete with despair.”  He spoke sweetly

He then stood up, picking, practically dragging you off the floor and made his way to his throne, sitting down then sitting you on his lap.  He then wrapped his arms around you tightly, causing you to squeak in pain.  His legs crossed elegantly, a wicked smile pasted on his face.

The others watched him in mortification until Makoto spoke up, “What do you plan on doing to her?  To all of us?  You’ve lost the game, what now?”  Kiyotaka merely switched legs and held you tighter.  “Like I said, I was going to defeat you,” Byakuya crossed his arms and played an arrogant face, “It’s over.”

Silence.  More Silence.  Even more Silence.  Then laughter, horrid mechanical laughter, “You think the game is over?”  Kiyotaka’s eyes grew wide, “It’s just the beginning,” he kept squeezing you tighter.  “Suppose I die.  What then?  Do you think madness will simply cease?  Do you think you six would be able to vanquish despair?”

Six, why did he say six; there were seven of you: Kyoko, Makoto, Yasahiro, Asahina, Byakuya, Toko, and you.  Why was he saying six?  You thought to yourself while Asahina vocalized the idea, “There’s seven of us here, why do you say six?”  Yasahiro then counted each of the classmates excluding Kiyotaka, “Seven, that makes seven of us,” he slammed his hands on a table like a detective.  After that a clamor of “What do you mean?”  And, “What is he planning went off?”

Kiyotaka was becoming annoyed, not only were they creating a racquet, but they were breaking a school rule; they were talking far too loud.  He squeezed you even tighter, you could feel your conscious slipping and your face turning blue, “K-Ki-Kiyotaka, c-c-can’t br-breath” you stammered out, but he held you even closer.

“Everyone quiet down.” Kiyotaka roared, causing you to cover your ears.  Everyone went completely silent.  “You all know what time it is?” He said in a sing-song voice, pulling you close to his chest like a child hugging a teddy bear.  “You know what time it is don’t you (y/n)-Chan?”  He gave you an innocent childlike smile.  What time was it?  What did that mean?  The others were lost in thought as well.  “N-No, you don’t mean…” you froze, your heart skipping a beat.  “That’s right!  It’s punishment time!”  He looked giddy and excited.  He released you onto the floor, “I can’t wait to feel the despair,” he jumped up and down in joy laughing like a little girl playing jump-rope.

You could no longer stand this nonsense, you stood up and promptly smacked him leaving a red throbbing mark on his cheek followed by a moment of silence.  “(y/n)-Chan...Have you fallen into despair?”  He asked calmly, his eyes softening, his smile deteriorating, his hand moving to your shoulder.  “Have you?”  He asked again.  Your shaking body fell to the unforgiving ground.  You?  Despair?  No, no it couldn’t be.  How could you fall into despair?  After Makoto’s constant speeches, after all the trials you had been through; how could you fall into despair.  “N-no.  No, no I can’t, I-I won’t,” you shrieked.

Kiyotaka smiled softly, “Despair is a wonderful feeling.”  His hand cupped your face gentle.  His eyes were hypnotizing, “Despair is a wonderful feeling,” he repeated.  “Despair is…a wonderful feeling,” you repeated zombie like, you were so light headed that you didn’t know exactly what you were saying, “Despair is a wonderful feeling,” you repeated, this time more confident, yet your voice was airy.  “Despair, is a wonderful feeling,” you repeated ecstatically, spinning around and landing in Kiyotaka’s arms.  “It’s a wonderful feeling,” you cried happily.  “Oh, Kiyotaka, I love despair as much as I love you.”

He dipped you and kissed you gently.  “I love you too, my dear.  I am hopelessly in love with you.”  “Now, my dear, what time is it?” He questioned, knowing you knew the answer.  “It’s punishment time,” the two of you said in unison, your hands intertwined, smiles pasted on your faces.

“No stop, you brainwashed her!”  Makoto screamed.  “Stop!”  Kiyotaka halted him, “We want this”.  “Goodbye everyone,” you waved as the two of you departed for your punishment.  He then pulled you into a long passionate kiss, then pressed the red button.
My friend requested that a write something darker, I simply cannot stand this piece, but here it is.  I hope someone enjoys it.
